The Anyone Can Dance series by Studio 116 equips novice dancers and proficient rhythm followers alike with a basic education on Latin Ballroom dance steps. Glide across the studio’s fanciful floating sub-wood floor as licensed trainers certified from the United Kingdom Alliance of Dance (UKA) teach the basics on their AB curriculum (7:30-8:30pm) which includes the sexy Cha Cha Cha, rhythmic Bachata, and the all-time favorite Swing; or from their CD curriculum (6:30-7:30) including the serious Argentine Tango, playful Samba, sultry Salsa and the ever competitive Hop Scotch. Like that itch that won’t go away, the kind instructors provide easy to follow steps that are repeated until everyone gets it right. The classes run for 16 weeks and are open to absolute beginners who are eager to learn and even to the slightly experienced who desire to improve their craft. Students are expected to come in decent comfortable attire and their own pair of leather-soled ballroom shoes. Bringing partners will not be necessary, however not restricted, as the studio is swarming with talented dance instructors that are willing to take students under their arm and twirl them across the floor.
