• Topical Fluoride Application is a very important procedure that should always follow after every professional cleaning or brushing of teeth.
• Fluoride is a mineral that:
1. reverses tooth decay by aiding in remineralization or tooth repair
2. makes teeth more decay resistant
3. inhibits buildup of oral bacteria
• An anti-cavity paste is applied topically to the teeth for 4 minutes w/o rinsing. This paste consists of 0.21% w/w Sodium Fluoride with Tri-Calcium Phosphate.
• After the treatment, the patient is instructed not to eat, drink or rinse for 30 minutes for the paste to be absorbed completely.
• For best results, procedure should be done every six (6) months.
